The Best Recommended Printers for Small Businesses in 2020

-

Given the fact that there’re dozens of office printers made by each manufacturer, buying a printer for business use is not exactly easy. You need to consider various factors such as the amount of money you need to pay upfront, cost per print, print speed, and features.  Here in this post, we have compiled a selection of the top five printers for business use. Read on.

1. Brother MFC-J6945DW

An all-in-one color inkjet with copy, scan, and fax functions, Brother MFC-J6945DW offers a bunch of business-class features such as duplex printing, automatic document feeder (up to 50 sheets), wireless printing, and wide-format printing (up to 11.7″x17″).  These are some of the most important features that small businesses generally look for in an office printer.

This inkjet printer can print up to 20 pages per minute. Two input trays can hold up to 500 sheets and connectivity options include Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and Ethernet.

The printer uses INKvestment Tanks – an integration of standard ink cartridge sand an on-board tank setup. You can still choose to use ordinary cartridges but they offload into the tanks.

A color INKvestment Tank super high yield can print up to 1500 pages. On the other hand, black INKvestment Tank super high yield and ultra high yield cartridges can print up to 3,000 and 6,000 pages respectively. Therefore, it is an ideal printer for small businesses that print up to a few hundred pages each month. If you print around 300 pages each month, one set of cartridges can last up to a year.

Among four-ink business printers, Brother MFC-J6945DW produces reasonably good looking photographs, excellent text, and average-quality graphics.

2. HP LaserJet Pro M15w

A compact monochrome laser printer, HP LaserJet Pro M15w is suitable for businesses that mainly print B&W documents. It weighs just 8 pounds and is the smallest laser printer in its class.

If you already own a color inkjet printer, you can use this laser printer to keep B&W printing costs under control. It produces up to 19 pages per minute.

This laser printer supports mobile and cloud printing; so, you can print and scan with the HP Smart app from your mobile device or print directly from the cloud (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud, etc.).

It does not have an Ethernet port but does feature a USB 2.0 port that you can use to connect to a PC.

Featuring an intuitive LED control panel, it uses standard-yield HP cartridges that can print up to 1,000 pages. The M15w prints at a cost of around 5 cents per page, which is comparable to other, entry-level monochrome laser printers. As it is the case with any other printer, you can purchase affordable HP ink and toner cartridges to keep printing costs under control.

The input tray can hold up to 250 sheets of heavyweight paper and 150 sheets of brochure paper. Besides letters and envelopes, you can use the M15w to print on media up to 8.5”x11” in size.

3. Canon PIXMA G6020

This inkjet is a multitasking powerhouse. With print, copy, and scan functions, Canon PIXMA G6020 uses high-capacity ink tanks that can print up to 6,000 black and 7,700 color pages in good quality.

With MegaTank cartridges, this inkjet delivers a running cost of less than one cent per page at around 0.3 cents for monochrome pages and 0.7 cents for color pages.

Since the cost-per-print is low, you can print flyers, posters, graphics-rich documents, etc. in office without having to worry about replacing printer cartridges too often.

The printer uses black, pigment-based ink for sharp black text and three dye-based color inks to produce vivid colors.

If you need to print more than 100 pages each week, you may want to invest in this device.

Connectivity options include wireless, Ethernet, USB, and PictBridge. This inkjet can print up to 13 pages per minute in monochrome and 6.8 pages per minute in color.

4. Epson EcoTank ET-4760

A 4-in-1 with print, copy, scan, and fax functions, Epson EcoTank ET-4760 uses supersized ink tanks that offer significant savings on printing costs. This inkjet can print at a cost of just 1 cent per page.

It’s an excellent multifunction color inkjet printer for office use if you want low running costs in the long term without having to sacrifice features.

The print speed is 15 pages per minute for black and 8 pages per minute for color pages. The PrecisionCore printhead delivers sharp text comparable to laser printer output in quality.

Replacement ink bottles hold enough ink to print up to 7,500 pages in black and 6,000 pages in color.

Weighing just 15 pounds, Epson EcoTank ET-4760 is lighter than most of its competitors.

The ET-4760 comes packed with business-class features such as 2.4” color touchscreen, auto duplex printing, 30-sheet automatic document feeder, 250-sheet paper tray, and borderless printing.

Connectivity options include wireless, Ethernet, and USB 2.0.

5. Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5299

A monochrome inkjet, Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5299 is known for its exceptionally low running cost.

With this printer, you can use a standard, a high-yield, or an ultra-high-yield ink cartridge. With ultra-high yield ink cartridge, the WF-M5299 can print up to 40,000 pages at a cost of around 0.8 cents per page. Standard print speed is 24 pages per minute. No wonder, this Epson inkjet is positioned to compete with monochrome laser printers as it offers a bunch of benefits that motivate businesses to buy laser printers. Most laser machines come nowhere close to such low running costs.

The printer features a 2.4” color LCD screen. It can handle an input of 250 sheets. A second, multipurpose tray can handle up to 80 sheets.

Unlike most other inkjets, Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5299 does not use ink tanks or ordinary cartridges. The printer gets its supply of ink from an aluminum bag.

Standard connectivity options for this printer include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet, and USB 2.0. The device supports mobile and cloud printing as well.

The WF-M5299 delivers high-quality text prints. Even documents having text in very small font size can be easily read.
