Samsung Galaxy Tab S4

-

One of the most wonderful tablets that can be compared with Apple’s iPad Pro 10.5 is Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. Samsung amazed everyone by launching it with some incredible features inside. Let me tell you an interesting thing about this tablet. It is a tablet that comes with a mouse and keyboard as well. Some people call it as tablet computer. It’s a flagship Android slate that is especially designed for those people who wants a tablet lighter than ultrabook and easy to carry. Beside that for a better sound experience you can connect Bluetooth earbuds to make it more portable and well for listening music.

It’s a 2-in-1 gadget which can be converted between two modes, one is the DeX mode and the other is the normal Android interface. It is the Dex mode that helps it in switching between the two interfaces.

Specifications:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 was launched in August 2018. It has a 10.5 inches screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels at 287ppi. It is powered with 2.35GhZ octa core processor and has 4GB RAM. The device is packed with 64GB internal memory that can be extended up to 2000 GB via microSD card. As far as the camera is concerned it has a 13MP rear camera an 8MP front camera for shooting some beautiful selfies. The device runs with Android 8.1 and is packed with 7300mAh battery.  It weighs around 482 grams. Different sensors are installed which includes gyroscope, accelerometer, light sensor and compass.

Features:

eFota and Knox:

Samsung secured the device with Knox. It is the company’s security system that protects the device from being hacked and from other illegal activities. Whereas, eFota is for firmware support. These features help the organization from hackers.

DeX feature:

The specialized feature by Samsung for shifting the Android to desktop is the DeX feature. It comes with Windows, a taskbar and browser tabs. Samsung DeX has become the biggest selling point for this tab. The DeX mode is both the best and worst feature for Samsung.

S-Pen:

For operating the DeX mode, it is clearly seen that there is a need for a mouse and S-Pen as well. The S-pen included with this model looks more natural than last year’s model. The functionality of S-pen always comes parallel with the Note phones or tablets.

Design and Display:

This time Samsung changed its design a bit. It comes with a Super AMOLED screen replacing the bezel. As this model mimics Apple, it changed its size too in comparison with Apple’s new screen size. Samsung changed the design from 9.7 to 10.5 inches which is a great change for its users.

The HDR display is quite bright which gives the best visuals to the users. The screen also has the iris scanner that works well if you are at the front or at a good angle of the screen. Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is easy to hold but it’s a bit slippery and is prone to smudges or spots due to the glass back. Being slippery and of glass you will definitely need to buy a protective case for it.

Performance:

If we talk about its performance, you will know that this tablet is an ideal name for doing multitasking.  We tested it in our tech lab and the results were amazing. It doesn’t show any lagging issues while doing many tasks together. A 1080p YouTube video was played with many tabs opened together and surprisingly no interruption or stuttering was noticed.

Battery Life:

The battery which is packed inside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is 7300mAh. Samsung improved the battery from 6000mAh which was included in the previous model. The battery is far better than iPads. Apart from other features or drawbacks, if you want to work for longer periods you can definitely do that with this big battery inside the device. A 90 minutes video was played on the device and it only lost 12% battery.

Bottom Line:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is the upgraded version of S3. It comes with 10.5 inches screen and extended battery life but you will need to pay more for buying this. The positive thing that you see in this tab is the DeX feature which no other device has ever offered.

The drawback that you will face is that there is no touchpad and some unnecessary keys will mess while working on it. Apart from these drawbacks it will still be considered as a good option for taking it for meetings and presentations, taking notes during a meeting.
